this is a track that got cut from my 2020 release, "Heartbroken". I wrote it in 2016, a year after moving back to NYC from New Paltz, NY. at the time, my sense of home was in nature. my mom lives in NC and I'm heading to visit her. I rarely get to see her and it seems like a good time to be with family. be safe y'all, be alone, live, love, and get stoned. use your time off wisely
lyrics
my darling
say it once
put your head down
and tell me what you want
on my ride home
i talk to myself
i'd be alone
if i were someone else
i wannabe alone
i want to go home
back to my living room
live, love, and get stoned
atoning in the city
bleeding busses thru my headphones
ill spend all morning tracking
5am till the midnight blackens
to my job
flying home
and back and
tell me what you want
i can listen but I might fall back
break my head
make the memories crack
follow myself just to see what happened
but i'll never know
no
i wannabe atoned
i wannabe alone
i want to be home
back in the woods
find the words i could call odes
move out of the city
see if i could still hear at all
my darling
say it once
put your head down
and tell me you want
on my ride home
i say to myself
you'd be alone
if you were someone else
i wannabe alone
i want to go home
back to my living room
live, love, and get stoned
So many amazing, beautiful songs on this album. Gives me so much hope for what's to come from this duo and everyone making music in this genre. the_technology
